Octo bonds consist of eight telescoping cables. They are often used by the LEP to restrain dangerous criminals. They can be locked and unlocked remotely, and once cinched, they can not be removed without the remote or an angle grider. They were used on Commander Root and General Scalene in The Opal Deception. They appear to have a small, but powerful winch/motor to hold them in place, as they are able to crack Commander Root's ribs by tightening when they attach to him.
