  • Ted Osborne spent a decade (1931–40) at the Walt Disney Studio as a story writer and, between 1932 and 1937, wrote the Mickey Mouse newspaper dailies and Silly Symphonies Sunday comics. These were illustrated by Floyd Gottfredson and Al Taliaferro respectively. With Taliaferro, Osborne has been credited as the co-creator of Huey, Dewey and Louie. Osborne wrote many of the celebrated Mickey Mouse daily strip adventures which were later adapted into the popular Big Little Books of the 30's and 40's ("Pirate Submarine", "The Seven Ghosts", "Oscar the Ostrich", "Race For Riches", "Mickey Mouse Runs His Own Newspaper", and several others). He was succeeded by such quality writers as Merrill de Maris and Bill wright.
