The Pumphouse Theatres houses the theatre venues Victor Mitchell Theatre and Joyce Doolittle Theatre. They are the home of the One Act Play Festival. The Pumphouse is one of the longest established theatres in Calgary. It was initially launched by Joyce Doolittle and Victor Mitchell of Calgary University in 1977. It receives a little less than 50% of its funding from Calgary City council. The remainder is made up of rentals from the theatre companies which use it and from private and corporate donations.
