Fire Damage is a type of spell damage as well as an Enchanting effect in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Fire spells belong to the school of Destruction, and have base Magicka costs higher than Frost spells but lower than Shock spells. Fire damage can also be enchanted onto weapons once a Fire spell has been learned, or used in Spellmaking. Its damage, magnitude, and duration are determined by the Destruction skill. Fire damage can be resisted using Fire Shield spells, potions, or scrolls.
