  • A ranged attack is an attack that can hit a target who is more than one square away. Ranged attacks will not trigger many of the passive attacks that are triggered by melee, even if the target is within melee range. Some examples of ranged attacks are: * Anything that is thrown, especially missile weapons (darts, arrows, etc.) * Attack wands, notably striking, cold, fire, and lightning * Most attack spells, such as force bolt * Monster breath, such as a dragon's
  • Attacking the enemy from a place where his attacks cannot reach you is the easiest way to defeat an enemy. This is an obvious fact, but it's not so simple during actual battle. In a long range attack, a weapon that enables such an attack and the skill to handle that weapon with precision are critical. Containing the basics of long range attacks, learning Ranged Attack enables you to carry out more accurate and powerful attacks from a distance. However, this one thing must not be forgotten - long range attacks are not accomplished by instant mental understanding but through persistent practice and training. The idea of a battle without risks is appealing, but it also requires much preparation and grueling training.
  • Ranged Attack is a basic ability used by NPCs and creatures in combat. It applies damage based on the attacker's Weapon Damage.
  • Determines the damage done by a Ranged Attack. Similar to attack, every 1 STR will give .75 Ranged Attack. Formula: Ranged Attack = {( 8 + Combat Skill + 3STR/4 + (+ Ranged Attack from gear) + (+attack trait/ability/minuet)) * (1 + (berserk effect + warcry + velocity shot effect + chaos roll effect))} * (1+ percentage increase from food )
  • Some ranged attacks have special properties: * Artillery attacks * Sonic Attack may stun enemies and damage multiple units at once, but can't damage structures, similar to Soundbeam Towers. * Quill Throw will lower the target's defense, similar to Horns. * Venom Spray poisons the target.
  • Ranged Attack is the Technology dealing with any sort of attack that is done with a flung or fired weapon, as opposed to a melee weapon. Obviously, it permist training of Archers of all variations.
  • A Ranged Attack is the term used to any attack made by a unit over a distance, using bows, throwing boulders, or shooting magical bolts. Many units may perform such an attack - almost half of all units. Furthermore, there is always a limit to the number of times a unit can make a Ranged Attack during each battle. Once a unit runs out of Ranged Attacks, it must resort to other means in order to hurt the enemy - and sometimes has to rely on much-weaker Melee Attacks to defend itself!

  • A Ranged Attack is the term used to any attack made by a unit over a distance, using bows, throwing boulders, or shooting magical bolts. Many units may perform such an attack - almost half of all units. The primary advantage of a Ranged Attack over a Melee Attack is that it may be performed at a distance - which gives some protection to the attacker. Due to the distance between the two units, Ranged Attacks do not provoke retaliation (Counter Attacks) from the target, so only the attacker gets to deal any damage! On the other hand, some Ranged Attacks become less effective the further away the target is - and very few are as strong overall as the strongest of Melee Attacks. A Ranged Attack deals Ranged Damage, which is often identical to Melee Damage. The attacker makes a series of File:Icon ToHit.png rolls to determine how much File:Icon Damage.png is caused to the target. In most cases, the target then gets to make File:Icon Defense.png rolls to try and block some or all of this damage. Ranged Attacks do not allow the use of most special attacks like Gaze Attacks or Breath Attacks - but special properties can sometimes be added directly to the Ranged Damage the attack inflicts, and Touch Attacks may also be delivered through them. Initiating a Ranged Attack costs an attacker 10 Movement Points, or as many as it has left (whichever is lower). Therefore, for virtually all units, only one Ranged Attack can be performed each turn.
