Lynsey de Paul was a British singer, songwriter, actress and television personality. She began her career in the 1970s writing a number of chart-topping hits for other artists, the first being "Sugar Me". She represented the United Kingdom on home ground in London with Mike Moran at the Eurovision Song Contest 1977 with the song Rock Bottom, where it placed second behind France. Despite that, it was the biggest selling song of all the 1977 entries, reaching the top of the Swiss chart and also doing well in other countries.
