  • Spider mines were developed on Earth, and are one of the few technologies to survive the Long Sleep. Mines were deployed during the Guild Wars. One of the most proficient users was Victor Kachinsky, who became a Kel-Morian war hero as a result. Equipping vultures with spider mines became more popular in the late 2490's, especially on border worlds. The 52-QDMM spider mine was in service by the Second Great War. These mines have occasionally been seen engaging in scuffles with one another.
  • The Spider Mine is a type of weapon used by the Helghan Empire. These are automated area denial devices that cannot differentiate between friend or foe once its movement sensors have been activated. They were development from standard landmine technology and are equipped with a tripodal locomotive system. This allows them to actively pursue enemy forces from beyond their deployed position. Once within 1 meter of the target, the Spider Mine sets off its anti-personnel charge which, normally, kills the infantry it was pursuing.
  • The Spider Mine, as its name suggests, is a small spider-shaped mine which grips onto its victim and explodes.
