  • Mega Man 2 (Rockman 2: The Mystery of Dr. Wily in Japan) is a video game for the NES that was first released in 1988. It is the second installment in the Mega Man series, and unarguably the most popular. It's similar to the original game in the series, and is known for its difficulty and bosses. The game is also a title present on the Wii's Virtual Console, initially being released in Europe on December 14, 2007, and about 3 quarters of a year later elsewhere. It is also available on the Virtual Console for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
  • Mega Man 2 is the second game released in the entire Mega Man franchise. It has been re-released on several consoles over the years and has most recently made its way to mobile phones. The game was added as a part of the Wii's Virtual Console service in Europe on December 14th, 2007. The game is considered by many publications to be the best title in the series, and, by some, one of the greatest games ever made. It is also notable for introducing the Energy Tank, with which Mega Man can heal himself. Like the original, it was directed by Tokuro Fujiwara. After this, he did not direct again for Capcom until 2006's Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins.

  • These are a collection of tile sets that are not used in the final game. The first three tiles on the left in the bottom-left corner of the grid are obviously from Wood Man's stage. The group of four tiles in the upper-right are clearly intended for Flash Man's stage. It's interesting that they made corner tiles, and could have easily put them in, but didn't for whatever reason. The square in the bottom-right looks like it could've been used in Metal Man's stage. No idea what the Mettool tiles or the black and blue above the possible Metal Man stage tile in the lower-right, though the black-and-blue thing look like it would fit in with background scenery somewhere.

The game was released in Japan on December 24, 1988, and in North America and PAL regions the following years.

  • Mega Man 2 (ロックマン 2: Dr.ワイリーの謎, Rockman 2: Mystery of Dr. Wily) is a 1988 platforming game published by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System and the second game in the Mega Man series. The game improved on many elements from the original Mega Man game such as graphics, music, and modifications to make the difficulty balance more manageable such as the introduction of E-Tanks, which restore health, and allowing damage invincibility to temporarily protect Mega Man from spikes. The game also introduced transportation items that would later be revived throughout the series as Rush.
  • Mega Man's second game is basically legendary by now. Innovations of the game included having 8 robot masters instead of 6, having a teleporter room so you could boss rush in a different order every game, removing that really stupid scoring system, Energy Tanks, having multiple mobility items that you won from bosses instead of finding them at random, and ADDING A MUCH-NEEDED PASSWORD SYSTEM. It also disallowed the ability to re-visit the stages of the robot masters, which alongside Mega Man 3 make them the only games in the series where that is true.

"Rockman 2: The Mystery of Dr. Wily"), is a platform game developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the second installment in the original Mega Man series. The game was released in Japan in 1988, and in North America and PAL regions the following years. Mega Man 2 continues the titular protagonist's battle against the evil Dr. Wily and his rogue robots. The game features graphical and gameplay changes from the first Mega Man game, many of which have remained throughout the series.
