Gary Ianico was an American paratrooper of the 101st Airborne Division during World War II, mentioned briefly during the film Saving Private Ryan. He was killed in action while in France at unspecified point in time, which may have been not long after the landings at Normandy. Later, while searching for Private James Francis Ryan, Captain John H. Miller and his Ranger squad discovered the dog tags belonging to Gary Ianico, inside a bag of dog-tags removed from dead paratroopers.
