abstract
  • In 2256, this star's location was labeled on the star chart "Alpha/Beta Quadrant Overview" in the ready room aboard the USS Discovery. It was depicted as a Klingon star. (DIS: "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad") According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 63), Klach D'kel Brakt was a multi-star with a G-class star, an M-class star, a B-class star, and an F-class star. The Star Trek: Discovery team responsible for creating the star chart used as a source the Star Trek: Star Charts, which was published before the connection between Klach D'kel Brakt and the Briar Patch was made in Star Trek: Enterprise. While Klach D'kel Brakt was not shown as a separate place from the Briar Patch in Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library, DIS: "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad" later showed Klach D'kel Brakt as the name of a star outside of the Briar Patch.
