  • The Unification Wars were a series of conflicts that began in 25,060 BBY, fought among several factions following the collapse of the Infinite Empire, which led to the formation of the Galactic Republic. The war saw large loss of life and introduction of more advanced weaponry and starships, but was most known for leading to the unification of the Galactic Republic, in 25,053 BBY. The four largest factions were the Galactic National Coalition, a government controlling a portion of the Core Worlds and Colonies, the Ignacian Militia, a faction based primarily on the Expansion Region world of Ignacia, the Askajian Empire, controlling parts of the Inner Rim and Mid Rim, and the Outer Rim Confederation, which was based in the Outer Rim Territories. Various smaller factions also took part.
