Mary Ann was the United Kingdom entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1979 in Jerusalem performed by the group Black Lace. With the UK national final in 1979 scrapped by labor disputes at the BBC, an audio-only final voted on by regional juries was staged and the song emerged as the surprise winner. It was performed 17th on the night following Norway and preceding Austria. At the close of voting, it finished in 7th place with 73 points. The band would later have some more recognition in the 1980s with their song "Agadoo".
