Stat bonuses are colored numbers added to weapons and armors, generally crafted through alchemy. It is possible to obtain them with equipment rewarded from a quest, or by using upgrade books. There are a total of four color bonuses (green, blue, orange and gold), but you can only reach the green and blue bonuses when crafting a weapon or an armor through alchemy or when upgrading a weapon. A weapon upgrade removes the weapon's existing stat bonuses, if any, and assigns new green or blue ones.

A weapon upgrade removes the weapon's existing stat bonuses, if any, and assigns new green or blue ones. Provider's Providence is said to influence the bonuses as well as the quality of your materials, but there have been reports they do not really affect anything. The lowest bonus you can get from alchemy is 0. All bonuses have a range (low and high values) before hitting the next level of bonus. When applying upgrade books or scrolls the bonus can be reduced as well as enhanced (and is some cases a weapon can be destroyed,) but will never fall below the minimum number of that particular colour - a weapon will never drop to green from blue, or from orange to blue. When a gold bonus number is reached an additional effect will become available, which varies according to the type of item.
