| - Douglas Lionel Scofield (b. May 6, 1941) is a Georgeland politician who served from 2000 to 2008 asMayor of Doubledance. Scofield is a member of the Conservative Party of Georgeland, and is considered to be an influential party member within his state. He has attracted criticism for his involvement in Conservative preselection fights for federal and state seats within the city of Doubledance. Image:Mayor Scofield.jpg Prior to his election as Mayor, Scofield was a member of the state legislature from 1992 until 1999, and for three decades before that had had a career as a businessman, Chamber of Commerce President, criminal prosecutor and lobbyist. Scofield describes himself as a "traditional" Tory, and supported Samuel Richardson and Mary Byrne's leadership bids in past contests. In early 2007, Scofield announced he would not seek a third Mayoral term in 2008. He endorsed and campaigned for Conservative candidate Rebecca Owens, who was defeated by former federal minister Charlotte LeBeau. Scofield currently sits on the board of investment bank Golding Hart.
