- A battlemaster is an NPC that offers characters the opportunity to join the queue for battlegrounds. Each capital city has several full-time battlemasters, one for each battleground, as well as a Wintergrasp Battle-Mage and a Arena Battlemaster. Additional battleground specific battlemasters that either stand around or roam the city only appear on their respective battleground's holiday weekends. When using the tracking system with the minimap they will appear with the Alliance and Horde icons (File:MiniIcon BattleMaster.png) at their locations.
- A Battlemaster will quickly take command of any rag-tag group of warriors he finds himself in, organizing raiding bands from weaker Beastmen, and even training Axemen into more disciplined Battlemasters on the spot.
