  • Tarloc is a free trade city at the mouth of the River Ashrin, founded 900 years ago by the first settlers in the northern lands. The city is governed by a college of aristocratic lords and ladies, known simply as the Lords of Tarloc. The city is surrounded by farmlands littered with small farm villages. The Great Road runs right through the city, southward to the hin village of Pinedale, northward around the Shade Mountains to Ashrindale and Frostkeep. East of the city lie the untamed Graywater Swamp and Tearwood Forest. Tarloc’s domains are considerable and stretch far beyond the city itself. Pinedale and it’s surroundings have long been in the possession of Tarloc, ever since Settler’s Conflict with the indigenous halflings during which the city was founded. After the war of Kheldom, the great strip of land along the north road including Ashrindale came under Tarloc’s direct control.
