"You misunderstood" is a common silencing or emotional manipulation tactic that accuses a listener -- who has called out a speaker's problematic comment -- of misunderstanding the speaker, shifting responsibility and effort from the speaker (to say what they mean) onto the listener (to intuit intent.) It also implicitly accuses the listener of being unintelligent.
