In 1959 they were part of the military based hockey club VTJ Dukla Valašské Meziříčí whose tenure was short-lived, and the army was abolished. An important milestone in the history of the club was the opening of an arena with an artificial ice surface in 1977; later, in 1982, a grandstand with necessary facilities was erected. The following season was the club managed to win the North Moravian Region of the Czechoslovak Regional Championships. Their home arena is the Zimní stadion Valašské Meziříčí, which has a capacity of 1200 spectators.
