The Amiral Duperré was an early battleship of the French Navy. She was the first barbette ironclad built by France. She served in the Mediterranean squadron. On 13 December 1888, during an exercise, one of her guns exploded, killing six. She was transferred to the Northern fleet in 1898. From December 1906, she was used as a target. She was eventually broken up in 1909. The Amiral Baudin class was largely designed by elaborating on her layout.
