The legend of Lord Nyax was a part of the mythology of Corellia. A scary bedtime story was told to Corellian children that Lord Nyax came to steal young boys and girls from their beds. Shortly after the Clone Wars, the Lord Nyax story became associated with Darth Vader, who also appeared, seemingly at random, to steal and kill Force Sensitive children in the dead of night before they could grow to become Jedi and a threat to the New Order.

Una historia para asustar a los niños corellianos, trataba sobre que Lord Nyax secuestraba a los niños y niñas de sus camas si éstos se portaban mal. Poco después de las Guerras Clónicas la historia de Lord Nyax se asoció con Darth Vader, quien se aparecía para robar y matar a los niños sensibles a la Fuerza en medio de la noche antes de que pudieran crecer para convertirse en Jedi y ser una amenaza para Nuevo Orden. Durante la Guerra Yuuzhan Vong el aprendiz de Jedi Oscuro, Irek Ismaren, asumió el nombre de Lord Nyax.
