  • Mustapha Allouch (born 1958) is a Lebanese Politician and a member of the Lebanese Parliament of the constituency of Tripoli. As a teenager, he fought with Palestinian forces during the first two years of the Lebanese Civil War as a far-left Marxist. He then enrolled into medical school at the American University of Beirut after spending several months in France and the United States. Under the Future Movement Party of former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Allouch stood for election as a member of parliament in 2005 for the constituency of Tripoli and subsequently won that year. He was re-elected in 2009. He became the first Sunni MP from Tripoli on the Alliance list of the March 14 coalition. His approach to the Sunni fundamentalism played an integral part. He has been criticized by his former Marxist comrades because of his switch in political ideology, choosing to run with the centre-right Future Movement. In the summer of 2006 he radically opposed positions of Hezbollah and their war against Israel, and continues to heavily criticize Hezbollah for its arms and Syria for meddling in Lebanese affairs.
