George Brannock was a friend of William Hanlon and a minor character in the horror novel, It. A natural saxophonist, he would often represent and perform for the Black Spot's (a club purposely designed for African-American soldiers) music band. Brannock was one of the many victims who died in the mass fire at the Black Spot in 1930.
