| - Modern Japanese haiku are increasingly unlikely to follow the tradition of 17 letters or to take nature as their subject, but the use of juxtaposition continues to be honoured in both traditional and modern haiku.
- A haiku was a traditional poem, oftenly evocative and sometimes elitist. Developed from the popular hokku, it was the most common, famous, and celebrated of Rokugan's poetry forms, praised as the purest demonstration of a poet's ability.

- Haiku (俳句) is a mode of Japanese poetry, a late 19th century revision by Masaoka Shiki of the older hokku (発句), the opening verse of a linked verse form, haikai no renga . A traditional hokku consists of a pattern of approximately 5, 7, and 5 morae, phonetic units which only partially correspond to the syllables of languages such as English. It also contains a special season word (the kigo) descriptive of the season in which the renga is set.

- Haiku (五・七・五 Go-Nana-Go lit. Five-Seven-Five) is a skill introduced in Fire Emblem Fates. It is the personal skill of Mitama.
- A haiku was a type of poetry originating from Japan on the planet Earth. In 2369, Data composed a haiku and presented it during a poetry recital in Ten Forward. According to Geordi La Forge, the haiku was "clever" but was not able to evoke an emotional response. (TNG: "Schisms" ) In a deleted scene, La Forge mentioned that he especially liked the haiku because of its brevity, in contrast to Data's other works.
- Haiku was born in a snowy village, possibly the same one as Haku, shortly after the war that had raged in the Land of Water. Her actual birth year is unknown, in that she was older than Haku and was possibly born during the war. This theory is probable as she, herself mentioned fighting in a bloody war, though this may have been another war she engaged in.
