The flag of Santa Clara County, in the United States state of California, consists of a blue (Pantone 2925) background, with a shape resembling a map of the county in the center of the flag in gold (Pantone 131). On the border of the flag are 26 gold five-pointed stars, arranged in a rectangle with six stars on the hoist and fly, and nine stars on the top and bottom. In the center of the flag, inside the Santa Clara map, is a white five-pointed star the same size as the other stars. Semicircling the Santa Clara map, on the top, are the words "SANTA CLARA COUNTY" in white, and semicircling the map on the bottom is the word "1850" in white.

  • Santa Clara (Spanish for "Saint Claire" of Assisi) is one of the 58 counties in the state of California. It was created in 1850, making it one of the original 27 counties in the state of California. Santa Clara is the most populous county in northern California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,781,642, up from 1.682,585 in 2000. The county seat and largest city is San Jose. The county has an area of 1,304.01 (3,377.4 km2) square miles, of which 1,290.69 square miles (3,342.9 km2) are land. Santa Clara is bordered on the north by Alameda County, on the east by Stanislaus and Merced counties, on the south by San Benito County, on the southwest by Santa Cruz County and on the northwest by San Mateo County. Santa Clara is one of the traditional nine Bay Area counties.
