It was destroyed sometime in the distant past by the scuttlers, utilizing mass-synthesizer technology provided by the shadows, which consumed the planet and transformed it into a massive gravitational signal receiver. The destruction of Haldora was unknown for many years, even to the settlers of Hela, as the shadows' receiver projected the image of the gas giant as camouflage, even down to the most minute detail.

However, as time wore on the concealment mechanism began to fail, allowing the illusion to slip for seconds at a time. This flickering was misinterpreted by Quaiche, who saw the phenomenon as a message from God. The mechanism eventually failed completely after being hit with a cache weapon blast.
