  • The Gateway Center, or East Asia Gateway Towers, is a financial complex located in Seogyeong, East Asian Federation. The centerpiece twin towers were designed by H.I. Tokugawa and constructed primarily by Hyasoda Contract Services and Samsung C&T. The tower has served as an icon of the Federation ever since its opening. The complex contains eight buildings in the Potonggang district of Seogyeong. The two main buildings, Crystal Gateway and Unity Gateway, house the international headquarters of the Hyasoda Group, and consist of 76 floors each above ground, and five below ground. The towers were among the first buildings in Seogyeong to adopt the "official" style of buildings in the city, a pseudo-military-industrial design, incorporating mainly steel and glass with more thought put into pragmatism than aesthetics. As with all buildings in Seogyeong, they are designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes. The basement houses an entrance to The Underground, an underground pedestrian mall and shopping center connecting most of downtown Seogyeong, and the Gateway Plaza and Gateway Towers stations of the Seogyeong Metropolitan Subway system.
