| - Bryce Salvador (born February 11, 1976 in Brandon, Manitoba) is a professional ice hockey defenceman who currently plays for the New Jersey Devils of the NHL. Salvador was drafted in the 6th round, 138th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. A stay-at-home defenceman, Salvador spent five years with the Lethbridge Hurricanes helping his squad reach the Memorial Cup final in 1997 only to lose out to the host team from Hull. Following five strong seasons in Lethbridge, Salvador who had since gone on to sign as a free agent with the St. Louis Blues in 1996, made his professional debut with the AHL's Worcester IceCats in the fall of 1997. Salvador went on to play three seasons in Worcester before making his NHL debut in 2000-01. Upon his graduation to the NHL Salvador became a key component on the Blues blueline and during the 2002-03 season played his 200th NHL game. Salvador went on to compete in three more full seasons with the Blues, blocking shots without worry and contributing where he could offensively. However, 56 games into his seventh season as member of the Blues Salvador was traded at the NHL trading deadline to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Cam Janssen. On July 1, 2008, Salvador re-signed with the Devils to a four-year deal worth $11.6 million.
