Terence Winter is an American director, producer and screenwriter of television and film. He is the creator, writer, and executive producer of the HBO television series "Boardwalk Empire". Before creating "Boardwalk Empire", Winter was a writer and executive producer for the HBO television series "The Sopranos". Other notable television series he wrote for include; "Flipper", "Sister, Sister", "Xena: Warrior Princess" and "Diagnosis Murder". He broke into film when he wrote Get Rich or Die Tryin which starred rap star 50 Cent and followed that with Brooklyn Rules starring Alec Baldwin. He was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 71st Golden Globe Awards for his film The Wolf of Wall Street.
