Pure Diamond Village was a settlement in Nazo Mori region, very poor because its dry fields only allowed to harvest grains such as wheat and millet. A Shinmaki monastery sat atop a nearby hill, dedicated to the study of the Diamond Sutra, which gave the name to the village.
