  • Carol Knox was the young wife of Fortson B. Knox. She was an attractive blonde woman with a fierce temper. After the birth of her child, Carol became disillusioned with her life, and she grew to resent her husband and baby. Carol developed a romantic relationship with Eddie Rax, a member of the criminal organization run by The King. Carol killed Fortson at the same time that Crewy Lou and Sphinx had infiltrated the Knox home in order to rob Fortson's safe. Seeing an opportunity to cover their escape, the robbers knocked Carol unconscious, assuming (correctly) that the police would focus their attention on her while investigating her claim that her husband had been murdered by the robbers. Dick Tracy soon found sufficient evidence to confront Carol about her own crime and she confessed. She received a 20-year sentence. Eddie Rax was killed by the King's men.
