Clinical lycanthropy is defined as a rare psychiatric syndrome that involves a belief that the affected person is, or has, transformed into an actual animal. This is not to be confused with Therianthropy. Researchers have noted that lycanthropy can be a part of normal culture-dependent behaviour .
