  • The 2008 Pacific School Games team are heading to Australia (also known as ) File:Flag of Australia.svg and will compete in this event which covers five sports: * Swimming, * Basketball, * Diving, * Hockey and * Track and Field. More than 5,000 competitors from all over the world will join in a week of sport and sportsmanship. Team have opportunities to get involved in specialised education programmes, interactive seminars and hot topics such as biomechanics, career development and strength and conditioning. The Opening Ceremony will be held on 30 November, 2008, and will feature 1,500 performers from schools around Canberra. The swimming begins on Sunday 30th November at 2pm, and finishes on Saturday 6th December at 3.30pm. Apart from the times mentioned, the swimming will run sessions from 8.30am – 5.30pm each day. The swimming will be held at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) swimming centre and this is where some teams stay.
