Mummy wrapping is a type of armor in ADOM. It has typical stats of [-2, +0] (actual stats might vary a bit), with a penalty to Appearance (normally -6, but may also vary). Prior to v. 1.2.0, Monks wearing mummy wrappings lose their usual bonuses to DV despite its light weight.

- A mummy wrapping is a type of makeshift cloak. It may be dropped when you kill any kind of mummy. The main use of a mummy wrapping is to allow yourself to enter shops when you have the invisibility intrinsic (otherwise the shopkeeper will not let you in). Once inside the shop, you may remove the mummy wrapping, but you will need to wear it again in order to leave. Note that mummy wrappings are subject to the same randomised level of enchantment as any other armor. This means that a +5 mummy wrapping is feasibly possible, making it possibly useful, in this case, for the early game.

Desirability
| - Given its typical stats and the fact they cannot be generated with prefixes or suffixes, there is absolutely zero reason to ever wear one. Notice the difference in weight to the ancient mummy wrapping. As of version 1.2.0 mummy wrappings negate intrinsic and temporary invisibility when worn by the PC. This property can be used to bypass Dak's restrictions on entering the Arena for PCs that obtained permanent invisibility early in the game but have yet to obtain the golden gladius.

The main use of a mummy wrapping is to allow yourself to enter shops when you have the invisibility intrinsic (otherwise the shopkeeper will not let you in). Once inside the shop, you may remove the mummy wrapping, but you will need to wear it again in order to leave. Another use for the mummy wrapping is to lure wraiths off of certain levels where they are less likely to leave corpses; such levels include any level with a graveyard, the Castle, Medusa's Island, the four demon lairs, and the levels with the Wizard's Tower. Be aware that MC 1 is not good protection against level drain; it is a good idea to switch back to your main cloak when you are ready to fight the wraith. Note that mummy wrappings are subject to the same randomised level of enchantment as any other armor. This means that a +5 mummy wrapping is feasibly possible, making it possibly useful, in this case, for the early game.
