Toluene is an organic solvent. It's structure is a partial benzene ring with a CH3 group replacing one of the hydrogen atoms. This makes it much less toxic than benzene. It is commonly used as a solvent in paint thinner and glues. Its fumes are toxic and can cause lightheadedness and nausea. Higher doses can cause unconsciousness and death.
