Plato Mahn was a Neimoidian Jedi Knight and the descendent of the former Confederacy of Independent Systems soldier, Tavris Mahn. He was the son of a member of the Neimoidian Gunnery Battalion, and was not raised in a hive, as his father believed that it bred cowardice, instead being raised to value honor and strength in combat, lessons which Mahn remembered well throughout his life. When he was discovered to be Force sensitive he was taken to the New Jedi Temple on Coruscant in order to train in the ways of the Jedi. He was taken on as the Padawan of the elderly Jedi Master O'choa Pyne, alongside a number of others. During the Sith-Imperial War, Pyne believed that the Jedi were destined to lose and so she and her Padawans fled to the obscure planet of Kluistar in order to hide from the Si

He was the son of a member of the Neimoidian Gunnery Battalion, and was not raised in a hive, as his father believed that it bred cowardice, instead being raised to value honor and strength in combat, lessons which Mahn remembered well throughout his life. Pyne's prediction proved to be correct, resulting in the Massacre at Ossus and the Third Great Jedi Purge. Mahn prided himself on the fact that he was a Jedi Weapons specialist, wielding both a silvery-green lightsaber or a cortosis staff in battle.
