| - Who is Invictus? When he came before the council of The Sith Empire ten years ago, he claimed to be a fallen Jedi named Talus Brekkenfayn. He cast aside that name upon acceptance and claimed the Sith title: Darth Invictus. After two years of study under the powerful Sith Master Drako, Darth Invictus was approached by a group of powerful Imperial Remnant Admirals to serve as the face of their new restored Empire. A powerful Force-trained figurehead to give the Imperial Armed Forces something to rally around. Invictus was hesitant at first to accept. He knew he would become an immediate target by every Force-user in the Galaxy. However, upon the revelation that Drako was behind this resurgent Empire, Invictus readily accepted the offer and immediately became an Imperial Knight, and Imperator of The Sovereign Galactic Empire. As Imperator, Invictus was being groomed to take the throne of the Empire as its first Emperor since the death of Palpatine. But the Force had other ideas. With his power in the Dark Side growing, Invictus foresaw his Master preparing to replace him with a rival from the Sith, Darth Mundus, now known as the Imperial Warlord Lykaios. Knowing Drako feared his powerful connection with the Force and that many of the Imperial Knights had no true loyalty to either side, Invictus began working quietly against Drako; even turning the Imperial Archon Nathanial K'Canse to his cause. Invictus' coup, though, never came to fruition. Drako sensing that Invictus had grown too powerful and had nearly outmaneuvered dismissed the Imperial Knights, assassinated many of the Grand Admirals the Ancient Force Vampyre did not outright control, and attempted to kill off Invictus with his old apprentice Chyrnn. The assassination failed when Invictus permanently trapped Chyrnn with one of the Ancient Sith's own enchanted weapons. Invictus knew he was not powerful enough to outright challenge Drako and went into hiding. Upon his return to the Galaxy, Invictus had assumed yet another identity. Now as the Marquis d'Ustal, he was accepted by the Triumvirate of Rannon. He took several apprentices and even began to challenge Lykaios and Nathanial for control. In the end, however, he proclaimed his loyalty to his fellow Dark Jedi Lords and claimed that he was actually Talus Vargas. Invictus has since continued to claim the name Talus Vargas is his real name. Imperial and Republic officials claim to have no records of this man. Under the persona of Talus Vargas, Invictus has created a small economic empire and retaken a position of political power with Ruusan. Only time will tell if this man, will ever actually reveal his true name or background. Background
