The film was released first at the New York Film Festival on October 19th, 2012 and then theatrically on October 24th, 2012. The film concerns a group of 19 year old youths who take a detour during a severe rainstorm and get into a car accident which leaves them immobile and trapped in the woods surrounding a deserted highway where they are prayed upon by a sick, murderous family of psychotics who bring them back to their farm of horrors. The film is produced and presented by Robert Rodriquez and has been met with critical acclaim and audience praise.
