Carl Gunnarsson (born November 9, 1986) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League. Gunnarsson was selected in the seventh round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was signed by the Maple Leafs to an entry level contract on June 3, 2009. He was resigned by the Maple Leafs on a 2 year deal on June 14, 2011, at $1.3 million per season. Gunnarsson scored his first NHL goal on January 29, 2010, against Martin Brodeur of the New Jersey Devils.
