  • Fu Manchu is a Manchurian supervillain, body builder and former stare-out competition winner of 1983. Like most Manchurian people, he wears a large moustache, owns a palace constructed through slave labour, and has a foxy daughter (see Asian chicks). He is renowned for his bipolarity, cruelty to animals and lack of moral and aural hygiene.
  • Dr. Fu Manchu was a Chinese criminal mastermind who preferred to the arcane rather than guns or explosives. He used had numerous thugs, robbers, and secret societies, such as the Si-Fan under his thumb. Fu Manchu armed his forces with not only hand to hand weapons such as knives but also strange animals or chemical weapons. He funded his plots through drug trade and human trafficking.

He has directed his wrath, and dreams of conquest, against the Western World due to (according to him at least) the long and tumultuous history of foreign influence and intervention in his native land.
  • Fu Manchu was a major influence on the facial design of the TOS Klingons, at the suggestion of actor John Colicos. Instructions he gave to the TOS makeup department about how to create his Klingon look included the direction, "We'll borrow some stuff from Fu Manchu, and put a long moustache and eyebrows on me." ("The Sword of Colicos", Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - The Official Poster Magazine, No. 8) The Klingon make-up scheme therefore originally had "a little touch of Fu Man Chu [sic]," in Colicos' words. (Cinefantastique, Vol. 28, No. 4/5, p. 59) Michael Westmore agreed that the moustaches of the TOS Klingons "had the Fu Manchu look to them."
