Even a dedicated starship aficionado would be hard pressed to identify ships of this class as they looked similar to countless other stock light freighters. Like its name would suggest, from the Stathas creature it is named for, the Stathas used a harmless appearance to hide its deadly capabilities. They were able to challenge most starfighters, including the Empire's TIE Fighters with their quad laser cannons, while being tough enough to take a harsh beating from the weapons found on even the most modern of starfighters. Mandalore Cadden Blackthorne took interest to this prototype ship prior to, and during, the New Mandalorian Crusade. He requested that a handful more be built, so that they could be tested in situations where their specifications could prove useful.
