Chesterfield is the largest town in Derbyshire (Derby being a city), with a population (as of 2001) of 100,879. Lying on a confluence of the rivers Rother and Hipper, the town is located on the A61, fairly close to the M1. Chesterfield was used as a location on Coronation Street in 1973 as the hometown to Trevor and Polly Ogden, son and daughter-in-law respectively of Stan and Hilda. Graham Haberfield, who played Jerry Booth, was born in Chesterfield in 1941.
