As a result, more sophisticated detection equipment have been developed. To enhance their infiltration strains, Collapsible carapaces have been evolved as a standard natural defense. This allows them to squeeze through tight spaces like Supply Depots and air ducts of starships. Mainly used by smaller strains, this evolution allows them to get deep into enemy bases where detection is nearly impossible and start destroying it from within.
