The leader of the hit team, Lieutenant Poll, was killed when he had strayed too close to the avalanche and was hit by a one-ton pane of ice. D'nall and the other goblins Aymon and Nyle try to think up a new plan to kill the survivors, as goblins are not good at improvising. He is killed by Lieutenant Nyle, when he is shot in the back. Nyle kills them to get promoted, since he becomes a lieutenant when he reaches Haven City.
