- Large, omnivorous lizards found in the deserts, dewbacks are named for the sweat they exude during periods of rest. Active during the day, dewbacks become sluggish during the cold desert nights. Faster and more agile than a bantha, Imperials have trained dewbacks as mounts. Sometimes a dewback will develop a taste for their own meat resulting in them becoming cannibalistic in nature.
- Dewbacks are large omnivorous reptiles native to the deserts of Tatooine. It's prey is usually cat sized or smaller, and it also eats desert sages and underground tubers. They are cold-blooded, and usually huddle together for warmth during the cold desert night. Dewbacks have hardly any enemies due to their size, but many predators eat their eggs, making it necessary to lay them in large clusters. Like most reptiles, they are usually very slow, but are capable of 50 kph bursts of speed. They are easily domesticated when raised from an egg, and are invaluable beasts of burden in Tatooine's harsh desert climate.

- Dewbacks are large, four-legged, omnivorous, cold-blooded reptiles native to the desert wastes of Tatooine. As such, they are well-adapted to the harsh desert climate. This and the fact that they can be easily domesticated, makes them commonly employed as beasts of burden by both the inhabitants of the desert planet and the off-worlders wandering its dunes. Due to their numerous useful traits and versatility, they are quite possibly the most respected of all the creatures native to Tatooine. They can also be seen in the streets of Balmorra.
- Dewback is an awesome dude, except no one knows why (his name does sound like an ancient lizard from a galaxy far, far away, though). When not taking a million laps around the universe every morning, screaming the number "42" at the top of his lungs, he is drowning rabbid rabbits, all whom he consider to be best friends, in the pointlessly enormous aquarium in his backyard. The Easter Bunny got pissed off when he learned that Dewback was drowning bunnies in his backyard, and he refused to give Dewback his annual gift of alcohol-filled chocolate eggs, forcing Dewback to rely on Santa Claus for gifts. Dewback later died from a lack of the Easter Bunny's chocolate eggs and the refusal of Santa to give him presents on Christmas Day.

Estas criaturas no pueden reproducirse en cautiverio. Al oscurecer baja la temperatura en Tatooine y estas criaturas entran en un estado letárgico en donde no se mueven. Otro extraño comportamiento es que en épocas de procreación se lamen entre ellos el sudor, para aprovechar el agua.
- [Source] Les dewbacks sont des reptiles vivant dans le désert de Tatooine. Ce sont des créatures très résistantes à la chaleur et à la poussière. Ils sont utilisés comme montures par les Sandtroopers lors de la Guerre Civile Galactique, plus particulièrement lorsqu'ils recherchent les deux droïdes C-3PO et R2-D2 possédant les plans volés de la Première Étoile de la Mort. Ils sont aussi utilisés plus simplement comme bêtes de somme, par exemple pour le transport de biens pour le compte de fermiers d'humidité, comme les Lars, ou en tirant les modules de courses jusqu'à la piste.
