The series follows the lves of four teenage girls -- Aria Montgomery, Emily Fields, Hanna Marin, and Spencer Hastings -- whose clique falls apart after the disappearance of their leader, Alison DiLaurentis. Three years later, after the discovery of Ali's body, they begin receiving text ,essages from an anonymous source, "A", who threatens to expose their secrets -- including long-hidden ones they thought only their close friend Alison knew.
