Jim Townsend is a minor character who is mentioned in hand in killer7. He was the owner of the Jim Townsend Survey Company, a seemingly ordinary census firm; however, this was merely a front - its real business was in carrying out contract killings. Harman Deltahead joined the company as an agent in 1772 after his partner Susan was murdered. Three years later Harman assassinated Jim Towsend and subsequently formed the first Smith Syndicate. It is unknown whether Townsend was an assassin himself.
