The main philosophy associated with Am-Makash was that defending was more worthwhile than attacking as aggression led to frustration, and frustration in any kind of sport or exercise led to one becoming tired much quicker. Because of this, Am-Makash focused on being excellent at defense so that you could parry your opponents every move, eventually tiring them out.
