Lucy Lum was a resident of Noland and part of a quilting circle with Dame Dingle, Nancy Nink, Betsy Barx, Sally Sog, and Molly Mitt. Dame Dingle once gave Lucy a quilting square unknowingly cut from a Magic Cloak. Lucy in turn gave half of the square to the miller's wife. When King Bud came looking for it, Lucy willingly returned her piece, sewed it back onto the Cloak, and directed the king to the miller's house. (Queen Zixi of Ix)
