The Smoke Ball (ケムリ玉(たま), kemuri tama) is an item in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. When thrown, the ball emits smoke, which steadily changes color. This smoke can obscure the vision of players. If thrown at an opponent, it will attach itself to them and do a small amount of damage. When not attached to a player, the smoke ball can be picked up, if thrown upwards it will bounce high upon hitting the ground. If Luigi uses his Final Smash while holding an activated smoke ball, the smoke's color will not be affected. When holding an activated smoke ball it will continue to release smoke until you release it and it disappears.

This does not work against any sort of boss, however, will work against unique monsters. It is basically exactly like using the Run option in the battle menu, except it won't fail ever, in a situation where it will work.
