Synopsis
  • Later, Oliver encounters a number of other situations that he tries to resolve. On the street, Oliver encounters a girl whose cat is stuck in a tree. He climbs the tree and rescues the cat. While delivering flowers to a wedding, Oliver helps the groom with his bow tie. On the road, Oliver sees a woman with a flat tire. He pulls over and helps to get the tire changed, with the aid of another helpful stranger. Later, as Green Arrow, he stops a mugging.
  • The next day, Oliver helps Dinah with the store's flower deliveries. At one of the houses he delivers to, Oliver encounters a naval officer who discovers that the flowers are from another man and becomes enraged. Oliver intervenes, knocking the man out with a single punch. He explains to the man's wife that it was on her husband's behalf, knowing how the navy punishes wife-beating.
  • The next morning, Oliver goes to the corner newspaper machine and as he bends over, a sniper's bullet goes through the shop window just above his head. Oliver walks on, unaware that his life is in danger.
  • Oliver and Dinah go out for dinner together, but as they step out onto the street, a car nearly runs them down. The car hits a stoplight down the street, but by the time Dinah and Oliver get to the car, the driver is gone. When the police arrive, Lt. Cameron implies that someone might be trying to kill Oliver.
  • Dinah Lance comes home to her apartment at the Sherwood Florist to find Oliver Queen cooking dinner in the kitchen. Dinah notices that Oliver is bleeding through his shirt, and eventually discovers that he has wounds that have not healed since his last mission. Dinah is angry that he allowed himself to be hurt so much, but he promises that he will always come back to her. Afterwards, they make love.

quotation
  • Well, we don't ride white chargers any more, but there's still a few of us around. And we don't really need a fancy costume or a phone booth to change in.
